Channing School Receives Recognized Rating

Twelve Straight Years

by Robert McLain

September 21, 2007

The last year that Channing ISD did not receive an exemplary or recognized rating was 1995.  Most of our current students have never known a time that their school did not finish in the top two rating categories that the Texas Education Agency uses as a rating system.  In fact the last time that the school finished at just an acceptable rating, our current seniors were in kindergarten.  Of the 1,068 school districts across the state of Texas, only 28 districts total can make that claim.

Mrs. Davis reviews the work of one of her students.

That would mean that less than 3% of the school districts in the state of Texas have achieved this record.

We feel that this was definitely a team effort.  This takes great students, great teachers, parental support, community support and a lot of hard work.
