All School Reunion A Success

The 2010 All School Reunion was held on July 30th and 31st at Channing School and seemed to be enjoyed by all.  There were well over 200 people in attendance on each day and a total well over 300.  

Grace Lewis Lyles (class of 1941) was the oldest former student in attendance and Jack Loudder (class of 1990) definitely came the farthest all the way from China.  The class of 1986 had all their classmates at the reunion with the exception of one

Grace Lewis Lyles, Ruby DePuy, Billy Powell, Joe Thomas, and Laurel Thomas all brought items to be shared in the new alumni room.  Annuals, uniforms, scorebooks, diplomas, newspaper clippings, pictures, etc., will be displayed in this room.  This room will be a repository for Channing School memorabilia.  This will also serve as a collecting place for item reflecting the history of the city of Channing and XIT Ranch until the XIT General Office is set up as a museum.  One thing that we would really like to get copies of are pictures from school or around Channing.  If you have any items that you would like to share in this room, please contact Robert McLain at 806-235-3432. 

T-shirts were sold to help start a Channing School Scholarship Foundation and there is a CD of pictures taken at the event along with the slide shows for $5 with proceeds going to the Scholarship Foundation as well.
