2010-2011 School Year Off To A Flying Start

What a first day!  We lost 24 students over the summer, yet we started the school year with more students than at any time last year!  We have 156 students enrolled and have several on a waiting list wanting to come to Channing School.  That is just over a 9% increase from the beginning of school in 2009.  Then we climbed as high as 151 late in the school year.

Our students and staff have been very successful in the past and have given our school an excellent reputation!  Parents, staff, students, and board members have spread the word about our school and helped to create a great climate for kids and many other parents are wanting to take advantage of what Channing has to offer.

The fact that we were a recognized district this year and we met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) just go to show the great efforts or our students and staff.  I believe this will be another great year at our school and have communicated this to our students.  We look forward to working with the students and the parents in conjunction with the staff to make this a very successful year for your child.
