Welcome to Mrs. Harris's first grade! I am excited to be returning to Channing this year for my 2nd year here! I am very excited to be teaching 1st grade this year. I taught 1st grade at another district previously, and I can't wait to return to 1st grade here. We learn a lot of new things in 1st grade so we will be going fast and furious!

I keep an open door policy and welcome any questions or concerns about your child. I want to teach them so they are past the point of being ready for 2nd grade, but I will need your support to do so.

HOMEWORK:

I will only give a monthly reading chart for homework. The chart will come home at the beginning of each month and be due the last of each month. THIS WILL BE A HOMEWORK GRADE!!!

Now if a student does not finish a daily homework assignment in class, it will go home and be due the following day.

If a student is absent, they will be given 1 day for each day they are absent to complete make up work.

Our grades are percentages for the whole school.

• Homework/Quizzes - 60%

• Test - 30%

• Six Weeks Test - 10%

Our six weeks test will be the end of a module most of the time so that will be the grade used for this test score.

My School......I graduated from WTAMU in 2014 with my B.A.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies

My Family......My husband and I have been married for almost 28 years. We have 3 girls together and I have 4 grown step kids. I also have 16 grandkids!! More in the future hopefully. My family is big and loud - and I love it!
