Important Update: End of After-School Esports Practice
Dear Parents and Guardians,
First and foremost, a huge thank you to all of our players and families for an incredible season. Your support has been the backbone of our program's success this year!
🛑 Practice Schedule Update
With the regular season officially concluded, after-school esports practices have now ended. Students are no longer expected to stay late and should follow their normal dismissal or transportation routines effective immediately.
🏆 State Championship Send-off
While the general season is over, we aren't done yet! We are incredibly proud to announce that five of our students have qualified for the Undisputed Championship UIL State Qualifier.
These students will continue specialized training for their upcoming trip to state. We are so proud of their hard work and can't wait to see them represent our school on the big stage!
🍂 Looking Ahead
We are already looking forward to seeing everyone back in the lab for our Fall Season. Keep an eye out for registration and tryout information late in the summer. We encourage all our players to keep their skills sharp over the break—but for now, enjoy the extra time after school!

What you need to know:
Check the Backpack: Please look for the yearbook in your child’s bag this afternoon.
Pre-orders Only: Today’s distribution is specifically for those who have already completed their orders and payments.
Write Their Name: We recommend writing your child’s name on the inside cover immediately to ensure it doesn't get misplaced during end-of-year celebrations.
Missing a book? If you believe you pre-ordered but your child did not receive a copy, please contact channing.yearbook@channingisd.net so we can verify your receipt.

Today Channing's 8th graders joined Texline ISD and Dalhart ISD 8th grade students on a CTE tour at Dalhart High School and Frank Phillips College. They had the opportunity to hear from instructors for nursing, diesel mechanics, and welding. These programs are part of the collaborative partnership for in-demand post-secondary pathways, the Northwest Panhandle Innovation Zone! It was a great learning experience! 🦅

Please be advised that the Esports Bake Sale fundraiser scheduled for March 5 has been cancelled effective immediately.
Why the change?
We were recently notified that the event does not align with current Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) "Smart Snacks" and fundraiser compliance regulations for our region. To ensure we follow all state guidelines, we are stopping the sale now.
What you need to do:
STOP sending in order forms and money.
TELL your neighbors/friends who might have been planning to order.
REFUNDS: Since no orders have been processed yet, we are simply returning any forms/payments that were already in transit.
We are so sorry for the "half-baked" news! We were looking forward to the treats, too. We are already looking into a "compliant" way to support our students soon.

Bus Route Update – Bushland Route
Although the ban has been lifted, we are continuing to take a safety-first approach. Due to the high volume of traffic in the area and the potential for lingering smoke, the Bushland bus route will not run tomorrow.
Families on this route will have an excused absence if their child is unable to attend school. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as needed.
