It was great having some of our cheerleaders with us this evening during our first district volleyball game. They did a wonderful job cheering for our team. Go Eagles.

We had our first district volleyball game this evening against Kelton. Although we didn't get the win, the girls played hard and didn't give up. They have shown great team work and commitment, and are improving with each game.

Today we took 13 students to Dalhart to start their CTE courses through our R-Pep designation. The Northwest Panhandle Innovation Zone, or NPIZ, is off to a fantastic start. We have students participating in welding, diesel mechanics and the nursing program. The NPIZ is currently made up of three area school districts, Dalhart, Texline, and Channing; along with Frank Phillips College, Rahll Campus. We can't wait to see where this journey leads us. #ChanningEagles!

We are excited to announce that our school received an "A" rating from the state for accountability. We are so grateful for all of our staff and students who worked hard all year to make this rating possible. This is the first A rating for Channing ISD since the letter grade was implemented in 2018. Go EAGLES! Continue to do AMAZING things in and out of school. It's a great day to be a #ChanningEagle!

We are looking for parents to serve on one or more committees.: Safe and Supportive Schools Committee, Student Health Advisory Committee, Site Based Decision Making Committee, Parent Involvement Committee, and new this year, Student Library Advisory Committee. We combine all of these meetings into one Stakeholder Meeting, which meets four times per year. If you only want to serve on one committee, you would only need to attend that portion of the meeting. If you are interested, please complete the brief survey found at the link below.

Mrs. Stegall (1st Grade) and Mrs. Barber (2nd and 3rd Grade ELAR) were twinning today! It's great to be a Channing Eagle! 🦅

Parents and Students: Honor your Favorite Teacher by nominating him/her for Teachers on the Rise. Every month, three teachers are selected from the Amarillo Area (one elementary, one junior high, and one high school). If your teacher isn't selected the first month, nominate them again the following month. What a great way to recognize the hard work our teachers put forth each and every day. For more information or to nominate your favorite teacher, scan the QR code in the image, or go to www.TeachersOnTheRise.com
Our secondary boys looked great during athletics today. They were all dressed out, working together in unison, and building team rapport! This is what we want to see in our athletic program. It's not just about the sport, but about conditioning, teamwork, respect, and dependability. Thank you Dr. Hughes for bringing these qualities and more to Channing ISD.
