5th grade loved their trip to Panhandle Plains Museum to explore different science stations. They especially enjoyed learning about states of matter through liquid nitrogen with Pantex Energy, circuits with Xcel Energy, and discussing chemical changes with Amarillo Fire Department.
The field trip was made even better when they provided everyone with Chop Chop for lunch! As Ada said ,"Science is my favorite subject and that just added onto it!" Thank you to the Windows on the Wider World (WOWW) Program for sponsoring this trip.

Perfect Attendance Assembly Photos...

On Wednesday, we celebrated 66 students who earned Perfect Attendance for the 1st Six Weeks. Way to go, students, and thank you for making school a priority!

Shout out to Clint and Craig Tharp, and Charles Bock for coming to Channing this morning to talk to our FFA students about careers and farming; and teaching our students about differences in tractors. Thank you Mrs. Bock for organizing this experience for our students.

We will hold an awards assembly tomorrow at 3:30 to recognize students who earned Honor Roll and/or Perfect Attendance the first six weeks. Students receiving an award were given a slip of paper today listing their award(s). Parents are welcome to attend, but must sign in and show an ID at the office. Thank you!

It is an outstanding day to be an Eagle! The Cross Country Team returned from the Stratford XC Invitational with personal records achieved by all runners, six medals earned, and a first-place finish for the boys' team.

Today Mrs. Chambers was made aware of a possible threat to Channing School via a social media post. Law enforcement was notified and deputies came to the school to talk with the students involved. It was determined that the students were seeing a video on TikTok in which almost every school in Texas was listed as a target. Deputies informed us that this was coming from a fake account and there is not credible risk to Channing ISD at this time. Our school was never placed on hold or lock down. Please know that we take all threats seriously and will investigate each one. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Parent who want to pick up their children early may do so without implication to their attendance record. If you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Heiskell or Mrs. Chambers.

Tomorrow is hat day! Bring $1 to wear your hat. Proceeds go to PTO to help with our playground fund and other activities.
